Inspection Blitz Shows 66 Percent of North Huron Businesses are Compliant

Huron-Perth continues to face inspections as part of the workplace inspection blitz across the province.

A total of 149 business across Huron-Perth have faced inspection to ensure all COVID-19 protocols are being followed. Most inspections were in retail but also in industrial/warehouse settings. Of the businesses found non compliant, 19 were given formal warnings while 6 were ticketed for their offenses.

The top three violations were failure to have a COVID-19 safety plan, lack of proper screening requirements in place and failure to adhere to capacity limits.

Inspectors ask a range of questions to business owners such as how they are ensuring safety for employees and customers, how they screen for COVID-19, how they would react to a confirmed case at their business from either a customer or employee as well as how to ensure their current safety plan is working.
