Credit Valley Conservation has approved a grant to the Town of Erin to construct a gravity trunk sewer and watermain below the Elora Cataract Trailway.
In a release, the town says this vital infrastructure will improve the water distribution system and connect Hillsburgh to the new wastewater treatment facility which is currently under construction.
Mayor Michael Dehn says there is still a lot of work ahead but now they can start construction knowing everyone is working together to complete the project as efficiently as possible.
The Elora Cataract Trail build dates back to 1870s with engineering drawings of the original culverts and bridges no longer in existence.
