At approximately 9:30pm on January 28th Huron County OPP received a call from a witness that reported they had come across a vehicle stuck in the ditch on Blyth Road near Beechwood Line.
A Huron OPP officer responded to the scene to assist the driver and upon speaking with the driver the officer noted the driver had consumed some alcohol. A roadside screening test was completed and the driver registered a fail.
The driver was then arrested and taken to the Clinton Detachment. There he provided 2 samples of breath to the qualified intoxilizer technician and both tests registered above the legal limit.
A 51 year old male of Guelph has been charged with Operation while impaired – 80 plus. He was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for March 8th in Guelph Court.
