Huron OPP charge Thorndale Man with a Dozen Charges after Incident in Kirkton

Huron County OPP have charged a 34 year old of Thorndale with a dozen offenses after they were observed passed out in the Kirkton LCBO parking lot on January 10th.

Officers were dispatched to the located on Road 164 at around 11:30 am. When they arrived they observed a white Ford Escape with a lone male behind the wheel.

The vehicle was running and the driver was awoken by police.

The driver was believed to be impaired by drug and was subsequently arrested.

A quantity of fentanyl was found on the driver.

Further investigation revealed the vehicle and plate were stolen out of London.

The driver was charged with operation while impaired, possession of stolen property under and over $5,000, 2 counts of failing to comply with a probation order, failure to comply with release order, possession of schedule 1 substance opioid and 2 counts of operation while prohibited.

They were also charged with highway traffic act and cannabis control act offences.

The accused was remanded into custody.
