On June 3rd at about 10:54pm, OPP officers were conducting RIDE checks on Princess Street East when a sport utility vehicle entered the checkpoint.
When speaking to the driver, the investigating officer detected the odor of alcohol coming from the driver.
A roadside screening test was administered and the driver registered a fail.
The driver was placed under arrest and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests where two samples of breath were supplied to the Intoxilizer Technician and both tears found the driver to be over the legal limit.
The 35-year-old from Goderich has been charged with Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus).
The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled for a court appearance on July 4, 2022, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
