Huron County OPP arrest Wingham resident with stolen goods

A Wingham resident will be making a trip to court in the New Year following an investigation this week by members of the Huron County OPP.

On December 21st officers responded to an Edward Street residence in Wingham to investigate a report of a break-in and theft from a motor vehicle.

Upon speaking with the victim and reviewing video surveillance they learned the accused entered into the victims’ unlocked vehicle and stole change and a pocket knife from the vehicle.

After this theft the accused entered the porch area of the residence where she stole a large bag containing miscellaneous items.

Officers were able to identify the accused shortly thereafter and she was arrested within the Town of Wingham. Upon searching the accused officers found her in possession of items stole from the Edward Street residence as well as items from the unlocked vehicles that were parked on Cedar and Water Streets.

A female 31 of Wingham has been charged with  break & enter an indictable offence, theft under $5000 from a motor vehicle, and 2 counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.

She was released and will appear in a Goderich court on February 15th to answer to charges.
