Huron County’s Immigration Partnership has marked the second annual I Am Huron Awards, recognizing newcomers to Canada who are making a difference in their communities.
The awards program encourages nominations of immigrants who have made an impact through their work, leadership or community involvement.
36 nominations were received and reviewed with seven individuals being chosen across the county.
Recipients were picked based on their nomination submissions with a focus on contributions to the community and society, entrepreneurial and economic impact and cultural and artistic contributions.
