HPPH says No Discussions on Lessening Health Restrictions Have Been Held

With the currently public health restrictions in the Province up for possible reduction as of next Thursday, January 27th Medical Officer of Health for Huron Perth Dr. Miriam Klassen says that no specific conversations have been held to discuss such a occurrence happening.

She added this to how she sees the state of medical field who have been facing rising case numbers and hospitalizations due to Covid-19.

“Hospitalizations and ICU admissions are at a high rate, and routine surgeries have been put on hold. I would like to see that pressure relieved”.

Andrew Williams, President & CEO of the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance added on the state of surgeries and the recent Covid-19 outbreak at the Stratford site having been declared over.

“We have had a restrictive environment with respect to surgeries recently. The outbreak made it even more so. This [ending of outbreak status] will allow us to provide a bit more access to care.”
