The incident happened on Tuesday, March 28th around 5:30 pm.
The dog involved is described as a purebred Bernese Mountain dog, black, white and brown in colour and not yet fully grown.
At the time it was walked by a female who stated she was taking care of it for a sibling.
HPPH is investing to verify the dog is up-to-date on rabies vaccinations.
If it cannot be confirmed, the person scratched may need to complete a series of rabies shots.
