HPPH Holding Vaccine Clinics for Students Born 2007-2009

Huron Perth Public Health will be holding vaccination clinics this summer for students born in 2007-2009 to help them stay up-to-date with all routine immunizations.

The clinics will be open to youth who have previously received a dose of Hepatitis B (HB) or Human Papillomavirus (HPV), and/or the Meningococcal (MenC-ACYW-135) vaccine and still need to complete the series, or to students who have not yet received these vaccinations and need to start a series.

Typically, HPPH would hold school clinics so students could receive these immunizations at school, but during the COVID-19 pandemic, these school-based clinics could not be held. This has resulted in many youth not being up to date on immunizations.

It is encouraged that youth stay up-to-date with their immunizations. Dr. Miriam Klassen, Medical Officer of Health for Huron Perth said that, “Routine immunizations help build up and strengthen the immune system, protecting youth from serious diseases.”

Under the Immunization of Schools Pupils Act (ISPA), students in elementary and secondary school are required to provide proof of immunization against certain diseases, including meningitis.

To know if your child has received these immunizations, you can check by looking at your child’s immunization record using the Immunization Connect Ontario (ICON) system. You can also visit hpph.ca to access immunization records, or call 1-888-221-2133.

Below are youth vaccine clinics. All clinics will take place from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
