“Even if there is vaccine escape happening. It is where even after being vaccinated a person gets Covid-19 infection it may be vaccine attenuated. People don’t become as ill, don’t become hospitalized or die and are less likely to transmit. That would be a good outcome of the vaccine. If it made the illness from a severe illness shifting to a range that is more mild.”
She also offered some insight that while some regions are opening pre-registration to more residents than Huron Perth has. The rate at which actual people receive a vaccine is not occurring as quickly in those areas as it may seem with pre-registration. They are still restricted by thing such as supply.
Huron Perth as a Region still sits at the low end of the spectrum against other west regions. The cases per 100,000 of population is second lowest at 34.4 (Chatham Kent is the lowest at 31) Wellington Dufferin Guelph is sitting at 161.9 per 100,000 as an entire region.
Percent positivity has Huron Perth the lowest at 1.3%. ICU occupancy is sitting at 50%. This is second to Lambton Region at 43%. Accute care occupancy is second lowest again to Lambton at 73% with theirs sitting at 71%.
