David Scherpenzeel was on hand from Homegrown along with Village Volunteer Sylvia.
Scherpenzeel said in a message to The Ranch that after chatting with local foodbanks and share programs they found that high heating costs were impacting low income families this winter.
Homegrown decided as a result to keep the Helping Hands Food Program going as a year round initiative.
Local Listowel residents supported the program and the $350 donated was what resulted in the donation of baskets to It Takes a Village.
If anyone wants to make a donation to the Helping Hands Program they can contact the Homegrown Food Basket through their website or Facebook page.
