Ontario marking Holocaust Education Week, Minister Stephen Lecce has unveiled a series of reforms to combat antisemitism across Ontario schools which will include an introduction of mandatory Holocaust learning for the first time in elementary schools.
Lecce says one in three students think the Holocaust was fabricated or exaggerated, prompting the decision to counter all forms on hate in Ontario schools.
Ontario schools will now be required to implement Holocaust education in the grade 6 curriculum.
