Construction has begun to replace and rehabilitate 4 bridges on the south end of the Hanover Community Trail system.
The two southerly bridges will be replaced with prefabricated steel trusses with timber decks, bridge 3 moving north from the south end will undergo rehabilitation with bridge 4 seeing the replacement of the approach spans with prefabricated steel trusses with timber decks.
Mayor Sue Paterson says the bridge work is a result of considerable and necessary pre construction work she looks forward to seeing the completion so that the south line trail section will be open for use.
Its expected the trail system will be reopened next summer.
