There was much to celebrate for Canada Day in Hanover with the opening of the Canadian Tire Splash Pad.
Following a successful fundraising campaign, $400,000 was raised of the $300,000 goal with support coming from businesses, organizations and individuals.
Hanover residents had long been expressing a desire for a splash pad and was noted as a priority from staff.
Once council green lit the project, a volunteer committee was made and now has officially opened.
Mayor Sue Paterson says the pad is a vibrant, welcoming space which promotes free physical activity, community connection and lots of fun for all ages.
