Guelph-Wellington Paramedics receive $6.1 million for in-home senior care

Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Services is receiving $6.1 million dollars over 4 years form the Ministry of Long-Term Care to provide accessible and safe non-emergency in-home care to seniors in Guelph and the Wellington County.

Stephen Dewar, Chief of Guelph Wellington Paramedic Services with the City of Guelph says the program will make a difference to so many seniors who are waiting for residents in long term care or who required ongoing health care.

With the announced funding which lasts until 2024, the Paramedic Service will recruit paramedics from within their team, make some capital investments, setup additional training and hire up to 7 temporary paramedics to be ready to implement the program for April 1st, 2021.
