The group says that the plan, currently in the design phase, will adversely effect the native Brook Trout and their coldwater habitat in the West Credit River. They say the river has one of the few remaining self-sustaining Brook Trout populations in southern Ontario.
The group has requested a federal review of the project under the Impact Assessment Act to ensure the West Credit River and it’s sensitive ecosystem are protected throughout the environmental assessment.
They are asking that the assessment be conducted with integrity, transparency and fairness.
