Green Water Found at Water Pollution Control Plant

The City of Stratford has been made aware of an unusual situation on Thursday at the Water Pollution Control Plant.

Late yesterday morning wastewater at the facility had turned a bright green, presumed to be the result of a dye test somewhere in the city. Staff say this is a harmless occurrence and poses no risk to the safety of the wastewater system or the outflow from the WPCP.

The dye test would have been conducted to assess the integrity of a sewer system.

As a precaution samples were collected and sent to a lab of further analysis.
