The Grand River Conservation Authority is issuing a warning for residents about staying off frozen bodies of water.
Officials say ice fishing is strongly discouraged in areas where ice conditions are not monitored and fishers are asked to avoid areas downstream of dams and to stay off the ice at the mouth of the Grand River.
The GRCA adds accessing frozen bodies of water can put both the public and first responders at risk.
