GRCA Urging Safety Near Waterways with Melting Snow

The Grand River Conservation Authority is urging residents to take caution when near the watershed given the sudden change in weather.

Above freezing temperatures and around 15-20mm of rainfall has been brought in which has resulted in increased river flows throughout the Grand River watershed due to run off from the rainfall and melting snow.

While no significant flooding is expected, river flows in local waterways will be higher than normal, increasing the risk of low lying areas more prone to flooding.

The public is urged to exercise extreme caution around all local waterways.

The GRCA is monitoring the river conditions and forecasts with a warning to stay in place until Monday.
