The Grand River Conservation Authority is encouraging everyone to get out and spend time in nature and support your mental health.
The GRCA says stepping outside for a walk or hike can offer quiet moments in fresh air, giving time to reflect and reset adding research has shown that time outdoors can reduce stress and ease anxiety.
Over the month, the GRCA is marking Mental Health Awareness Month and aiming to raise $50,000 to support the trails and natural spaces supporting well being.
As the GRCA does not have a dedicated revenue source to support trail maintenance, donations are what fuels the conservation authority to keep the trails maintained and operational for everyone.
