The Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board is working alongside Fanshawe College to offer a free PSW training program.
The program comes following the announcement from Premier Doug Ford on expanding the PSW training and recruiting program.
Aiden Moss, Principal for Blessed Carlo Acutis Continuing Education School says the partnership between the school board and college was already in the works prior to the Premiers announcement
“We had it in the works before the announcement from the government. The timing is just wonderful. It’s in response to a shortage of personal support workers and our desire to support the healthcare sector during the pandemic.” said Moss
Moss added many have already applied for the program.
“The interest in this course has been incredible. It speaks to the desire of the community we have to be those caring family and friend members contributing to the system”
The course will run from March 23rd until June 22nd done all online. To qualify you must be an adult learner and be within 4 credits of graduating. To apply email Aideen at Amoss@HPCDSB.ca
