Former Perth County Warden Annabelle Thomson has passed away.
Annabelle served as Warden from 2002-2003 starting her political career in 1974 as councilor of Downie Township, being the first female elected in the township.
In 1983 she was Deputy Reeve and then as Reeve in 1988.
She remained in the role until amalgamation serving as the Mayor of Perth South from 1998-2013.
In a statement, Perth County Warden Rhonda Ehgoetz says Annabelle had a history of community involvement and service through her work with the Women’s Missionary Society and as a member of the Elm Grove Women’s Institute.
