Ford Government considering cancelling March Break

The Provincial Government is considering cancelling March Break for Ontario students in concerns about new Covid-19 variants that are already making their way around the community.

Education Minister Stephen Lecce is working with Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. David Williams on the decision and if it makes sense to keep schools open through the usual break.

They expect to have recommendations to government by next week.

The reopening of schools outside of York, Toronto and Peel was confirmed for February 8th yesterday. The remaining areas reopen February 16th.

March break is currently scheduled for March 15th to 19th.
