The expansion of the Fisher Family Primary Care Centre in Listowel is nearing completion.
The two storey, $10 million project has been supported by $4 million in local donations raised by the hospital foundation and create space for up to 22 additional physicians and other health professionals to meet the growing needs of the population.
Robin Spence Haffner, Executive Director of the Family Health Team says by working together with donours, staff physicians and partners they are building the foundation for improved access to care close to home. While the new space is ready and welcoming patients, more government funding and physicians recruitment remain critical steps.
