The Fight for Farmland Group, who’s been heading the discussion for transparency as Wilmot Township farmers face land loss, they’ve been denied a series of Freedom of Information requests.
The group filed 21 basic Freedom of Information Requests with the Region of Waterloo where 18 requests were denied and the remaining 3 were given no record.
The group says denying these requests raises serious concerns about the transparency and legality of the actions of the Waterloo Region saying citizens are being kept in the dark.
Some denied requests include the Official Plan and Farmland protection, Wastewater and Treatment, Project Costs and Expenses and Alternative Site Evaluation.
