Centre Wellington has approved to have a Home of Patrick Anderson sign for Fergus.
This comes following grade 7 students from Elora Public School speaking to council in February of the request.
Anderson, who was born in Edmonton grew up in Fergus and when struck by a drunk driver had lost his legs below the knee.
Anderson went on for a strong wheelchair basketball career as a three time Paralympic champion and four time medalist in 1998, 2002 and 2006.
It’s expected Anderson will be in the area on May 20th and suggested as the ideal day for the unveiling.
