The Government of Canada is investing over $2 million of the over $5 million dollar project through its Disaster and Mitigation Adaptation Fund.
Mapleton Mayor Gregg Davidson says that the funding will be used to help safeguard their system from future flooding and build capacity for community growth.
In addition to that the station will also be easier to maintain and more energy efficient through installation of isolation values and high-efficiency pumps.
Perth-Wellington MP John Nater and Kitchener-Conestoga MP Tim Louis were on hand for the announcement in Drayton this morning for the announcement.
