OPP continue to warn the public of scams after an Erin couple lost $57,000.
On September 10th at around 3:30pm, Wellington County OPP were contacted of the fraud.
A couple in Erin was contacted by someone claiming to be a contractor who urged repairs on their chimney and foundation.
Trusting the individual, the couple gave a payment of $57,000 of which the scammer then asked for another $77,000 for materials when the couples’ children then intervened and saw this as a scam.
