Elections Canada issues update of voting in Sept. 20 Election

Elections Canada, through it’s Chief Electoral Officer Stephane Perrault held a press conference this afternoon to update residents on the ways they will be able to vote on election day September 20th.

The ways to vote on election day include in person at your assigned polling station, in advance at designated advance polls, by mail and at any Elections Canada office.

In terms of online voting Canadians will be able to apply online to cast their vote by mail. This is a change as in the past Canadians living outside Canada who wish to vote were required to apply directly to their Elections Canada office.

If there are a considerable amount of mail-in ballots returned then results from the September 20th election may take a few days to calculate says Mr. Perrault.
