The shorter operating hours at the Durham Hospital hasn’t been impacting the Louise Marshall Hospital in Mount Forest.
This was shared in an update to council by North Wellington Health Care Alliance President and CEO Angela Stanley.
This all comes when in February the South Bruce Grey Health Centre announced the Durham hospital’s ED would be closed overnight starting March 10th with a nursing shortage being the reason.
The North Wellington Health Care which also includes Palmerston and Fergus numbers showed this year there has been over 21,000 emergency department visits in Fergus and just over 24,500 across Mount Forest and Palmerston.
As for why the Durham ED closure hasn’t impacted them Stanley says this mainly is due to patients instead going to Hanover.
