On February 11th just before 8pm the Perth County OPP responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Line 37 in the Township of Perth East.
During the course of the investigation the investigating officer formed the opinion that the driver had consumed alcohol. A Roadside Approved Screening Device test was conducted which resulted in a fail.
The driver was arrested and brought to a local police station for further testing, where 2 samples of breath were provided.
As a result a 45 year old male of East Zorra-Tavistock Township has been charged with operation while impaired with alcohol and drugs and operation while impaired blood alcohol concentration 80 plus.
A 90 day driving suspension and 7 day vehicle impounded were initiated. The accused is scheduled to appear in a Stratford Court at a later date to answer to the charges.
