The downtown Palmerston reconstruction project has begun.
Last two construction season, the work is being split into three sections with this first start being between Toronto Street to Cumberland Street lasting until October.
The scope of this work down the road will include new road surfaces, sidewalks, storm-water improvements and new roundabouts.
Belinda Wick-Graham, Director of Economic and Community Development with the Town of Minto says this over the course of the work businesses will still be running, encouraging everyone to still get out and support.
“Through traffic will be happening just with a little bit of delays so I encourage people to come to Palmerston and support the businesses and next year will be the Main Street downtown core project.” said Graham.
The town has also launched the Palmerston Full Steam Ahead page on Facebook providing residents and businesses with updates as the work goes on.
