Crime rates have dropped within Hanover over the last year.
As part of Statistics Canada’s Crime Severity Index, the reported crime and accounts for both the amount of crime reported to police within Hanover saw a drop overall.
The Crime Severity Index for Hanover in 2025 was reported at 69.59, an improvement from 110.78 in 2024. On the Weighted Clearance Rate for Hanover in 2025 it came in at 64.49, above the 71.63 in 2024.
Hanover Police Chief Christopher Knoll says achieving a clearance rate nearly 75% above the provincial average shows the commitment of their members and the trust they have in the community as they work to solve crimes and deliver results.
