Wellington County, Centre Wellington and the Grand River Conservation Authority are at the forefront of a $1.7 million lawsuit filed by the family of a Kitchener man who was killed in an impaired driving collision in 2021.
25 year Brian Araujo lost his life on August 1st 2021 after the vehicle he was in being a passenger on Wellington Road 21 near Eighth Line had crashed with an oncoming SUV.
The driver was charged with a slew of offenses including impaired driving causing death with the case still remaining in court.
The claim alleges the GRCA, township and county didn’t take appropriate measures to prevent injuries as a result of alcohol or cannabis consumption at the conservation area.
