County & City of Guelph win at Land Tribunal in Project for Transitional Housing

Wellington County announced it, and the City of Guelph, had seen the Ontario Land Tribunal rule in their favour in regards to turning existing County-owned property into transitional housing.

The property at 65 Delhi Street in Guelph is planned to be turned into a 28-bedroom housing building received unanimous support before being appealed in August of 2021.

Social Services Committee Chair David Anderson says that the County is pleased with the decision adding the City and County have worked hard to find innovative solutions to help the homeless in their communities.

The move will mark a move by both the County & City away from crisis emergency housing and towards permanent housing solutions & homeless prevention strategies.
