North Perth council will revisit the discussion of implementing a green bin organic collection service at tonight’s meeting.
Diversion of organic waste from landfills continues to be a key in reducing greenhouse gas emissions while conserving valuable landfill space.
Options do exist for residents who wish to recycle their organic waste both now and in the future which includes backyard composters, indoor composting as well as a curbside green bin composting service.
Council will vote whether or not to direct staff to look further into adding a green bin collection service to be provided by the Bluewater Recycling Association.
