Centre Wellington council will make a final decision next Tuesday on whether or not to have cannabis stores in the township.
A report will come next week with two choices, to either allow the retail sale of cannabis or continue to stay out of the picture.
This has been a discussion ever since 2018 with cannabis became legal though council has remained to opt out of allowing retail locations but its gained more discussion when two delegates spoke to in May this year asking council to revisit the idea.
A survey completed showed 913 residents were in favour of having cannabis stores while 23 were not.
Of the 414 lower or single tier municipalities, there are 353 which have opted in for hosting cannabis retail.
