The cost of policing is going up across Wellington County for this year’s budget.
This year will see the taxpayer pony up $428.88 to cover the cost of policing in the county, up slightly in a per-property cost which was $428.34 last year.
The fee is determined by a number of factors such as number of residential, commercial and industrial properties, predicted call volume and contract enhancements and prisoner transportation.
Andy Lennox writes a growing population in the county will result in a growing police budget.
