Want to Make $17,000 More Next Year? Run for North Perth Councillor

If anyone in North Perth is considering running for Municipal Office in this Fall’s Election one of the things to consider is the compensation you are paid for taking on the role.

For the last fiscal year in which numbers were reported, 2021, the role of Mayor in North Perth received $30,021.48 in renumeration. Other areas of compensation include special meetings and expenses. In that period the Mayor received $3,000 and $1707.04 respectively.

Councillors in North Perth received $17,095.56 for their service in 2021.

Deputy Mayor saw a slight bump to $19,716.36 for taking on the role in addition to those of councillor.

Election Day in Ontario for the Municipal Election is Monday, October 24, 2022.  The deadline to register as a candidate is Friday, August 19th by 2pm.
