The closure of BMO in Mitchell has drawn some ire from Mayor Walter McKenzie and Perth-Wellington MP John Nater.

BMO recently made an arbitrary decision to close its branch in Mitchell of which no conversation was made with the public, elected officials or local organizations.

In a letter by Nater and McKenzie to Regional Vice President Kristen Korhonen, both expressed their disappointment saying many in the community have banked with BMO for decades and the closure represents a significant challenge to customers such as seniors who don’t drive and don’t feel comfortable with online banking.
