CMHA Ontario releases revealing survey results on our pandemic mental health

With residents of Ontario marketing the 1 year anniversary of the Province’s Covid-19 emergency declaration a new survey by the Canadian Mental Health Association’s Ontario Division is highlighting alarming trends that indicate the strain on mental health this pandemic has caused.

The data shows that only a 3rd of Ontarians consider their current state of mental health as very good or excellent.

This is a decrease of nearly 20 percent since a poll last May.

Plus over 3 quarters of residents believe we’ll be in for post pandemic mental health crisis up from just 66 percent of respondents last August.

The poll also shows a troubling pattern with loneliness where more than half are lonelier since the start of the pandemic and almost half wish they had someone to talk to.
