The Lions Club of Clinton will be folding after 85 years.
The club which saw as many as thirty members is now down to only having 5 members.
While the Clinton Lions have maintained strong community support and it has been received back, it hasn’t been possible to find newer, younger members to join the club.
The Lions Club helped looked after Ausable Bayfield Park just south of Clinton. They helped take care of the park by cutting grass, make a walking trail and put in a pavillion and fire place.
As a way to end on a high note for the club, large donations were made from funds raised from a recent catch the ace lottery with the Legion.
The Lions Club made a $5000 donation to the Huron Residential Hospice and $7000 to the Clinton Public Hospital Foundation.
