Perth County OPP have shared more on their planned Cops for Cancer Head Shaving fundraiser.
The event will see participants as well as officers have their heads either shaved or hair cut on Friday, September 30th at the Sebringville Detachment all in support of raising money for the Canadian Cancer Society.
Mitchell’s Claire “Claire Bear” Nicholson will be the guest hairstylist for the event. OPP Constable Jill Johnston says the fundraiser feels especially important given its local impact.
“We’re excited about that especially with all the local connections, everybody mourning the loss of Heidi (Schlumpf) so really just something we’re trying to do and give back to the community” said Johnston.
Proceeds from the fundraiser are all in support for the Canadian Cancer Society with a goal of $5000.
