Christine Elliot to Not Seek Re-Election

Sources say Premier Doug Fords most prominent minister will not be seeking re-election in June.

Health Minister and Deputy Premier Christine Elliot has decided to not seek re-election prior to Ontarians heading the pools.

Elliot who serves as MPP for Newmarket-Aurora lost the leadership race in 2018 to Doug Ford but served as health minister in 2018.

Elliot is the 2nd prominent cabinet minister to announce her departure following Rod Phillips who announced he would be resigning from his post as Minister of Long Term Care
