Centre Wellington has its sights on a termite eradication program, entering an agreement of $200,000 with local pest management company Balson Preventative Solutions Inc.
The township is looking to determine the issues of the problem and those who can deal with it.
Across Fergus and Elora, termites have been found across 259 properties which they call the “red zone” and 219 in the “blue zone.”
A focus for a treatment program would come in the spring and fall using Nematode Treatment which is a natural pest control using microscopic, threadlike roundworms which infect and kill termites.
