After stepping up to the plate and provide PPE throughout the pandemic, the Canadian Shield has laid off 47 employees.
This comes after the company said there have been issues being able to provide face masks and shields into the healthcare industry. CEO Jeremy Hedges posted to twitter saying its an industry wide issue for all PPE manufacturers in Canada.
Hedges added thousands of jobs and millions of private and public sector dollars are at risk.
Hedges said the company has five million masks and two million shields sitting on their shelves.
