Some extra money could be sliding into your bank account this week.
The first installment of the Climate Action Incentive Payment (CAIP) will be issued July 15th along with a retroactive payment for April.
In the past CAIP was given as a refundable credit claimed on an annual basis however, this month the government swapped to quarterly installments.
The amount given depends on where one lives and their family situation.
The breakdown of what Ontario residents could receive includes:
- $373 for an individual
- $186 for a spouse or common-law partner
- $93 per child under 19
- $186 for the first child in a single-parent family
A rural supplement of 10 per cent of the base amount will also be given to residents of small and rural communities.
