A resident in Centre Wellington is out $5000 after being the victim of bank fraud.
The victim had received a call from an unknown person claiming to be an employee of their bank saying there was suspicious activity on their account.
Trusting the caller the victim shared banking details and the following day $5000 was taken from their account.
OPP say to always be alert and educated to reduce the risk of being a victim of fraud.
If you receive unsolicited phone calls or messages asking for personal information or payment in gift cards to never provide such information.
