Wellington County OPP are urging the public to be vigilant as a resident almost had fallen victim to a scam.
On August 22nd at around 11pm, OPP received a report of attempted fraud which took place at a residence in Erin with an unknown suspect posing as someone from the Canada Revenue Agency, attended the home and presented a complainant letter claiming a family member had a company registered in their name and owed $25,000 in taxes.
The resident however noticed the nature of the claim and did not engage with the suspect who told them to leave and contacted police.
